3rd European - Institute Of Filipino Martial Arts(IFMA) Summer Camp (22nd-24th June '07)

Four members of Warriors Eskrima Ireland (Shane O'Neill, John Hoey, Oisín O'Cellaigh & Stephen Redmond) made the short trip to Warwick in England for the 3rd IFMA summer camp.The camp is held outdoors in a local adventure sports facility and was attended by IFMA students & instructors from; Northern Ireland, U.K, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.

The training was carried out over 3 days and included;

  • Knife defence
  • Multiple opponent fighting
  • Apparatus training
  • Sparring
  • Lapunti Arnis de Abaniko (half days training in this art with Punong Guro Simon Wells)
  • Paintballing.

    The Irish contingent would like to thank all IFMA students & instructors who contributed to a great weekend of training, especially Pep & the Spanish crew, see you in November, Guro Simon Wells & his assistant Chris for their introduction to the art of Lapunti arnis de abaniko, And special thanks go to Guro Krishna & Deepa Godhania for all the time & effort they put into making this the best camp yet.
